At Seed, our mission is to make sustainable, simplistic toys and materials that encourage independence, imagination and a love for unplugged play. Having real experiences and connecting with real materials is essential for childhood development. Engaging the head, heart and hands is our goal.
We are an earth conscious company with hope that our natural toys and materials will be a bridge between children and nature. Our vision is to encourage our children to appreciate and care for the Earth while cultivating a respect for both humankind and our planet.
Play isn’t about passing the time and keeping children busy it’s about holistic development and forming a child’s personality.
“We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything than when we are playing.” -Charles Schaefer.
Our values are those that support child directed creativity and open play. Among other things, this includes: Open ended or child led play, unplugging from technology, learning about and being inspired by nature, simple, beautiful activities that are sustainable, earth conscious and create a calm environment.
We believe in a low impact lifestyle: one that does not tax our planet or our well being.
Seed is committed to giving children non toxic, minimal waste toys using alternative materials such as paper, wood, silk and cotton. Real materials have texture and life.
